Battle your Fears

 What are you scared of?

Everybody has some fears and worries – as humans, we’re programmed to feel fear as a natural response to threats in order to protect and look after ourselves. But, what happens when your fears begin to take over? Fear can control your life and keep you from following your dreams, prevent you from taking risks, and stop you from living the life that you want and doing the things which you desire.

But… It doesn’t have to be this way! Fear can hold many people back, and one of the biggest mistakes that you might be making right now is taking your fear at face value. What you need to understand is that fear can be both real or imagined, and it’s hard for your body and brain to differentiate between the two. Let’s look at two different situations to put this in perspective. Imagine that there’s an angry bull racing towards you, and you’re wearing a red t-shirt. This would be real fear. You have every reason to be scared if you’re being charged at by a furious horned animal!

Now, imagine that you’ve just turned the lights off after watching a particularly scary horror movie. You know that you’re absolutely safe in your home, but you still can’t shift that nauseous feeling in your gut when you think about some of the scenes from the movie. This fear is imagined.

Fear can be a product of two different things – it’s either due to reality, or a product of your imagination. In general, real fear will be felt by both you and others around you, and imagined fear will be personal to you alone. Imagined fear is generated by your beliefs and individual perspective of the world, which is why some people have fears which are completely incomprehensible to others. For example, a person who fell into a lake as a small child may have a fear of water even into adulthood, whilst somebody who’s never had a scary experience with water could be a professional swimmer with absolutely no fear of scuba diving in the sea. This is because water in and of itself isn’t something to be fearful of, but your personal experience could make it scary for you. In general, the fears which hold us back are these imagined fears which are personal to each and every one of us. Just because they’re imagined, however, doesn’t mean that they’re not real – they certainly feel very real to the person who is feeling them.

Conquering the fears which are holding you back relies on you getting down to the source. Discovering what causes your fears is key to facing them head on and taking control of your own life and happiness. Figuring out what you need to do to push your fears out of your life and no longer allow them to hold you back will involve putting everything into perspective and sifting out the irrational fears from the rational ones. Once you know where it is that your fears come from and how to deal with them, you’ll become a braver and stronger person. Fear and anxiety can severely hold you back, and taking the steps to gain control over them and no longer allow them to rule your life is a process which will take time, effort and patience – but it will all be worth it in the end.

2 Simple Ways To Practice Manifestation

 If you are a devout practitioner of manifestation, then you will know how useful and beneficial manifestation is. Here are 2 simple ways to practice manifestation;

 - Setting up the goal

- Visualization and attaching positive emotions with your goals

Begin the first step by setting up a goal (in some circumstance, “purpose” in life. This is rather obvious and easy to understand, but if you intend to embark on practicing manifestation, then your goals need to be more specific and personal in nature. Examples are, losing weight, quit smoking or even going back to school. All this might seem menial or even hilarious in the beginning, but once you get hold of things, there is this power in the universe which will make your subconscious mind to act on the instructions to manifest them.

Inner Strength Manifesto Now that you have the goal in mind, just sitting at home and thinking about it will not bring you any closer to the goal that you want. Instead, you need to make a definite and exact plan which you can follow. Most people think manifestation is some kind of magic and everything will come true just by the degree of “how hard I wish”, but the reality is, thinking is just one part of manifestation and there is more to work with. Some goals are realistic and achievable, some are not.

The beauty of manifestation is once you begin thinking about that goal, your subconscious mind will guide you through the specific and exact way. Begin this exercise by writing the easier things you want and the steps which are needed to be completed.

Then, move on to the bigger goals. Besides that, you need to create a platform where the process contributing to the goal can be monitored. This will enable you to monitor and address any issues that need attention or redesigning.

Never forget the enthusiast you who chose such a goal in the first place. Simply because once you lose the initial excitement and momentum, it will further jeopardize your achievement. Therefore, it is very important to set smaller and less demanding goals that will help to create the confidence level to encourage you to aim for bigger goals at the next juncture. For this to truly achieve, you must discipline yourself to achieve it.

Revisit this exercise as often as you can because at times you might even find better ways to improve on the steps that you had initially thought. Once you are accustomed to it, ironically, you will take this as a fun exercise and begin to enjoy the process. What you need to do now is to write down your goals.

At the same time, jot down all the possible methods to achieve it. It doesn’t need to be accurate just yet. The purpose is to keep pushing you towards the reality of achieving that goal. For example, you are projecting yourself having a wonderful significant other, owning a beautiful home, travel anywhere you want and getting excited about it!

By using imagery a a motivating tool, you will be able to “see and feel” the outcome. This helps keep the excitement and momentum going to help you move forward. It might be tough at first, and there is no guarantee that the manifestation will directly change your reality (at least, initially), but one thing is for sure that it will affect your life by influencing your subconscious.

Hence, this will lead to a better mindset, more focused and happier YOU!

A Philosophy to Increase Your Self Confidence

Everyone takes pride with all the things that we possess. May it be the achievements that we had, or the present living that we were able to produce, each one of us has become an achiever on our own.

Many of us may have denied this truth though. But you see, it is obvious-everybody is capable of doing anything only if we give our hearts into it and we set our minds in doing it. No one is deprived of the capacity to enjoy life's successes. Only those who deprive themselves of these gifts are the sufferers. Are you among them?

Leave your answer hanging then whisper it to yourself. Whatever the output is, see to it that you would change things for the better.

If you can say that you are confident enough then good! But don't settle yourself with what's enough. There will always be gaps and you should cease the opportunities for improvement.

If, however, you answered no then don't tarry. Wasting your life to senseless whimpers of negativism would obviously cause you to regret everything at every moment you depart.

How painful it would be to know that you were equipped with everything you need to achieve but dared not use them.

There was once a young eagle who happened to be raised in village of chickens. He was oriented to chicken living and was raised to believe that he is one of them. For long, he has been watching the eagles hover in midair with their display of magnificence.

For each time that he stands in awe of these airborne eagles, he wishes that he was born like them. He dared not to spread his wings though yet every day, his heart cries for soaring the heights eagles soar. He failed to discover his potentials and real self and thus, he died a chicken- ever longing to become one of those to which he truly belongs.

Every one of us is an eagle. We are all capable of flying to the maximum of our potentials. Unless we spread our wings and dare to discover our real self, we will forever be bounded by our failure to transcend heights and become the real people that we were meant to become.

Now, if we would only realize the eagle that is sleeping within us then we could have all lived a life of happiness and contentment.

CLCIK IMAGE

We were all born entitled with achievements and successes. The Universe is too good for us that she took time to secure everything that we would need to soar. Don't waste this very opportunity by putting loads in your back so you would be delimited and thus, incapable of flying.

Be like an eagle who has unearthed himself from the mud of being a chicken. Chickens are meant for slaughter. In the same way, if we choose to be chickens then we would have to accept the reality that our purpose would be defeated. That is, to give glory to the Universe who has kept us in her arms and fed us with everything we needed.

Be like an eagle and live a life free from the damaging culture of the chickens. Be like an eagle and make yourself benefit from the confidence you can get from being a mighty creature.

The Best Vegetables to Eat for Anti-Aging Benefits

As we continue to age it becomes increasingly important to make sure that our bodies are receiving adequate nutrition. When we are not taking care of our bodies to the greatest extent possible, it can turn into quite an ordeal as the consequences of our neglect to our health begin to catch up with us. When we aren’t being conscientious about the choices that we make, it can cause a lot of problems.

Fortunately, we have the option to think about the choices that we have been making and modify them to the point that we are able to prevent further damage and often, reduce the damages that have already been done. Our bodies are extraordinary machines and more often than not they can seem to bounce back miraculously!

But we have to make sure that we are maintaining them and making good choices. So, consider the following vegetables as some of the best things that you can eat for your health and wellness, and vegetables that can help you to stay youthful and to prevent the signs of aging.

First, edamame is a great option for anyone who is hoping to prevent the signs of aging. It encourages blood flow and can even help women who are dealing with menopause by providing a special type of plant estrogen called phytoestrogens to the body. Edamame helps with cardiovascular health, which can also translate to blood flow. And making sure our blood is circulating properly is one of the best ways to enhance our natural glow and keep us looking and feeling great!

Another great vegetable to eat to help us to prevent the signs of aging are sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes have been considered a veritable super food. They are chock full of vitamins and nutrients that help our bodies function optimally. One of the strongest vitamins they contain in order to help us in the fight against aging is vitamin A, which has been known to help our collagen levels and ultimately help us to reduce and prevent lines and wrinkles from forming in the skin. Another vegetable that contains high levels of vitamin A is the carrot, so eating both of these root vegetables can have a great impact on our efforts at anti-aging!

You might also want to consider eating more cooked tomatoes. When they are cooked, tomatoes produce an antioxidant called lycopene, which can do wonders in helping us to keep our skin healthy and free of any damage that might threaten it. Throw in a little bit of cilantro for detoxing and you could find yourself enjoying quite a delicious meal that can actually have tremendous health benefits as well!

Overall, eating nutritional foods will do wonders for the body and mind. When we are taking care of ourselves, it’s hard not to radiate the confidence and natural vitality that are within each of us. Try to incorporate more of these vegetables into your diet today for the best chances of reducing aging through your diet!

Yoga and Meditation

Yoga is the bridge between meditation and spirituality. The original Buddhists used yoga as a means to prepare for meditation. Meditation, like yoga itself, is secular. It can be practiced by anyone. The purpose is to quiet loud mental chatter and calm the mind.

Benefits of Meditation

1. Meditation allows you to become more aware of your inner and outer life. You start to notice emotions and thoughts that you may have previously denied.

2. It provides insight to improve your relationships.

3. Being aware helps you act in the moment instead of acting out of habit. Negative emotions can have you act in ways that are harmful, even when you are unaware of the reason for your behavior. When you become aware of these feelings, you can deal with them in a positive way.
4. Meditation allows you to be less critical of yourself and others.

5. Meditation keeps you from acting on random emotions and lets you analyze facts before taking action.

6. Meditation reduces stress and anxiety.

7. Meditation helps you adapt to changing circumstances.

How Does Meditation Work?

Much research has been done on meditation for the past decades. Physically, meditation lowers our blood pressure and calms our nervous system. When we meditate, our heart rate and breathing slow down.

Through greater awareness, meditation allows us to change the way we think about past experiences. If you were continuously put down as a child, you began to accept it as normal. As an adult, those same feelings are still deep within you. You expect to be put down, even if there is no reason for such expectation. Regular meditation can change that negativity to allow you to accept more positive thoughts and emotions.

Studies have revealed that meditation can actually change our brain structure. People who meditate have enhanced areas dedicated to awareness and focus. A study at Harvard University has shown that while age can diminish certain areas of the brain, regular meditators retain the brain capacity of someone decades younger. For anyone seeking a higher level of existence, meditation clearly has much to offer.

Another Harvard study showed that with regular meditation, areas of the brain that deal with fear and anxiety were reduced, while areas involving empathy and compassion became enlarged. Changing how our brain reacts is the ultimate in taking control of our lives.

How to Start Meditating

Like yoga, meditation requires commitment. It is an ongoing process. The more we meditate, the better we get, and there are no limits to how well we are able to meditate. Ancient and current Buddhist spend a lifetime on meditation and self-empowerment.

Meditation requires a quiet place. Most people close their eyes and focus on their breathing, noticing every inhale and exhale. While other thoughts may intrude, they are simply acknowledged and set aside in a non-judgmental way. Start with just a few minutes – it is surprisingly difficult to sit quietly for any length of time because we are used to being constantly active. Work your way up to half an hour or forty-five minutes.

Try to meditate at the same time every day so that it becomes a daily habit. Find a comfortable place where you won’t be disturbed. Meditating after getting up in the morning can get your day started on a positive note; however, meditating before going to bed can help you sleep better. Of course, there is no reason you can’t meditate during both times of the day.

Finding Time to Meditate

Claiming not to have enough time is simply an excuse not to get started. You don’t own time; you make it by getting up half an hour earlier in the morning. If you have your own office, close the door during lunchtime and use the hour, or part of it, for meditating. Do you spend a lot of time on social media? Limit your time and you’ve bought yourself at least an hour or two every day.

Mindful Meditation

One of the most useful types of meditations is mindful meditation. It brings greater awareness to our thought and emotions. Many people are chained to negative thoughts, frequently about occurrences from years past. No matter how much time has passed, these emotions can still control our actions.

Mindful meditation allows us to acknowledge those negative feelings, then put them aside so that they no longer have the power to control us.

Mindful meditation is based on one critical axiom that cannot be overstated: You Are Not Your Thoughts.

Some people feel controlled by their negative emotions. Mindful meditation puts you in control. Like yoga, meditation can change areas of the brain, increasing our ability for enjoyment and decreasing the areas responsible for depression and anxiety.

Instead of having our mind jumbled with thoughts and feelings, mindfulness keeps us in the present to deal with what is happening now. This is a skill that can be learned.

How to Meditate Mindfully

Mindful meditation couldn’t easier. If you can breathe, you can meditate. Simply follow a few simple steps and enjoy the relaxing benefits.

Find a quiet place, preferably with natural light. Ensure that you will not be disturbed. If you can find a peaceful place outdoors, it would be ideal.

A good amount of time to set aside for meditation is half an hour, but you can start with just five minutes and increase your time gradually. Like yoga, it should be easy and not painful or uncomfortable.

Wear comfortable clothing. You don’t want anything tight disrupting your meditative flow.

It is helpful to have a timer set to keep you from glancing at your watch.

You can use a chair or sit on the floor using cushions. If on the floor, cross your legs in a comfortable lotus position, which is the traditional Buddhist meditating stance. If you are sitting on a chair, have your feet touch the floor or use blocks on which to rest your feet.

Your torso should be straight, but not stiff. Rest your hands on your thighs. You should feel comfortably at rest.

Most people prefer meditating with their eyes closed as it removes distractions. But if you prefer, you can leave them open.

Next, just relax. Gradually begin to focus on your breathing as you inhale and exhale deeply. Notice how the air feels going in and going out. Feel the rise and fall of your chest.

It is natural for your focus to wander as other thoughts enter your mind. There is no reason to get upset and pretend these thoughts aren’t there. Acknowledge them and then return your focus to your breathing.

If your mind wanders a great deal, simply observe what is happening in a non-critical way. Don’t force them away, merely pay attention to what is happening.

One way to increase your focus is by counting. Inhale, count 1, exhale, count 2 … up to twenty. Then count in reverse.

Remain still for a few minutes after you have finished meditating. Notice how you feel, your thoughts, and emotions. Become an observer, not a critic.

Meditation is as easy as this, yet it can bring about powerful changes. When practiced with yoga, you will notice your mind and body working in natural harmony.

Growth Priciples

Words and language are unique to human beings only. They’re like superpower which you can either use for the good or the bad. Unfortunately, people don’t often realize the impact words can have. Whether it’s the expression of love, the instructions on a manual or the speech of a captain just before a game, the words we use can change the outlook on everything.

In fact, words probably linger longer in our memories than actual faces or whole events. So it’s wise not to underestimate what words can do for yourself and for others.

Beliefs Are Shaped From The Words You Use

Has someone ever passed a remark that makes you insecure? Things like “you have a funny smile”, “you have a big nose”, “you have really bad breath”, scarring you with insecurities with yourself. As a result, you subconsciously learn to smile with a handover your mouth. Or get nervous speaking to someone to close to your face. That’s how words mould your beliefs. That is how words from others change what you think of yourselves.

The same goes for compliments. It’s surprising how a few words of appreciation can make you believe more in yourself. A simple “this color looks so good on you” will sub-consciously always make you look for that color. Or words of appreciation from a teacher or mentor will encourage you to work harder and improve. This is exactly how words factor into success and failure.

A common example of this what you hear from a doctor. Be it a serious disease or an aesthetically-related problem, patients hang on to every word that the doctor tells them religiously.

If the doctor speaks kindly and reassures the patient time and again that there is hope and high chances for recovery, the patient will feel eased and better right away. If the doctor doesn’t give any such reassurance and just hands over a prescription, the patient will stay restless and unsure about his treatment.

Mind Your Vocabulary

The words you use can pave your way to success, or down fall. Come to think of it, speakers make a living out of it. Be it a religious speaker, a motivational speaker or a teacher. They all use their vocabulary to their best in order to convey things better to you, in order to improve your understanding of a concept and leave an impact on you.

Keeping Your Head in the Clouds to Ensure Success!

When we are determined to meet a goal, most of the time we find ourselves feeling anxious and unhappy with ourselves if we allow our minds to wander. We may do everything that we can to prevent this from happening so that we are capable of being our most productive selves. If we are taking the time out of our day to consider things that may not necessarily be realistic, doesn’t that mean that we are wasting time and not using every second of every day productively?

Well, think again! When our minds wander and we find ourselves zoning out, that can actually be incredibly important for us. It is a chance for our minds to work without the pressure of our conscious demands, and more often than not, it is the break they need from being controlled to really work on efficient solutions to our problems!

Now, that isn’t to say we should zone out all day every day and expect that our minds will automatically solve our problems. That isn’t how it works. However, when we allow our minds to relax in a healthy way it can provide us with the time our brains need to work through some of the most pressing puzzles that we are focused on and seek out constructive solutions to these problems.

Have you ever had an “aha!” moment? Or a sudden clarity come to you from seemingly out of nowhere? Most of the time, these moments are as a result of allowing our minds to work on their own, without pressuring them to focus on something else. Everybody needs a break, and keeping your mind constantly working without allowing it a chance to recharge will sometimes do more harm than good. It is great to be motivated and to work toward your goals. However, it is also healthy to allow yourself to have a break so that you can stay open to some methods of problem solving that we might not necessarily discover through a traditional route.

The most ideal times to let your mind wander are when you have already scheduled a little bit of down time. When you are just waking up or laying down in bed, our minds are already beginning to process the ay ahead or the dreams we had and it can be a great time to let it wander. Another good time to do this is during a shower, when the steam is clearing your sinuses and you are allowing your body to relax. Let your mind relax as well! You can even let your mind wander as safely as possible if you are driving or during your commute to and from work. You never know when inspiration will strike, and if you are constantly trying to control it, then it might never even happen for you. So stay alert by keeping your head in the clouds… at least once in a while.

Be More Confident And Get What You Want

It is going to be very difficult for you to achieve your goals and get what you really want if you are low on confidence. There are likely to be many times when you need a high degree of confidence to tackle something that you have never done before.

This is all fine. When you tackle new things you push the boundaries of your comfort zone. Far too many people stay in their comfort zone for their entire life. They would never take on anything that they had never done before. You do not want to be like this so you need to work on your self confidence and believe that you can tackle anything.

Irrational Fear

Your subconscious mind will protect you from things that you are fearful of. If a hungry lion is loose in the city then your subconscious will do everything possible to help you keep out of its path. This is fine because it is a real danger to you.

But if you have an irrational fear of public speaking your subconscious will treat this in the same way. It will help you to avoid every possible opportunity for you to make a public speech. This kind of fear is irrational and you may not realize it now but it is not helping you at all.

If you have these kinds of irrational fears then you will give your confidence a massive boost by overcoming them. How do you do that? The best way is to tackle irrational fears head on. Just do it anyway despite the pain.

Force yourself to make small public speeches if this is one of your fears. Start with a small and friendly audience of family members and friends and then get braver. Learn the best techniques for public speaking and then put this into practice. You will send the right signals to your subconscious and your confidence will increase significantly.

Is your Self Esteem high?

Be honest with yourself here. What do you really think about yourself? Are some things good and some things bad? Do you really love yourself? Do you beat yourself up regularly if you make a mistake or for any other reason?

If you want to be super confident then your self esteem needs to be high. If you have a low opinion of yourself then you need to work on this right now. Write down what you think your weaknesses are and then turn these around into positive statements.

For example if you think “I am not good in social situations” turn this into “I am like a social magnet and always get what I want from social situations”. The reason that you need to do this is to create a list of positive affirmations that you can read out loud every morning and evening to boost your self esteem.

Use a Physical Anchor for instant Confidence

This is very easy to do and very powerful. Think back to something that you achieved in the past. It needs to be something challenging that you are really proud of. Reflect on how this makes you feel and make the feelings really strong.

When these feelings are at their peak squeeze your thumb and forefinger together to “anchor” the feeling. Now when you need a confidence boost in the future all you need to do is squeeze your thumb and forefinger together.

The 7 Proven Benefits of a Positive Psychology

The positive psychology movement has endured its fair share of criticism, especially from those who believe in shadow work and the integration of negative emotions. Yet there is much research on the many benefits of positive psychology.

#1 - Stronger Personal Relationships
People who are happier have deeper ties with their family and friends. Positive psychology also has a number of benefits in the workplace and can help to increase productivity and return on investment, as well as increasing employee satisfaction levels. Companies such as Google place a massive emphasis on employee happiness.

#2 - Benefits the Wider Environment
Having a positive outlook actually rubs off on others who you come into contact with. In other words, it's contagious. Those who spend time with happy people are more likely to be happier in the future as opposed to spending time with those of a negative orientation.

#3 - Happier in General
People involved in positive psychology are less likely to have depression or mental illness. While having a positive mindset does not stop bad things from happening, it helps to get over them. People stuck in negative thought patterns let negative events haunt them for years.

#4 - Healthier
People who engage in positive psychology practices tend to have lower blood pressure. They have lower stress levels and people who are optimistic about their circumstances are more likely to recover from illness such as cancer at a faster rate. Studies have shown a direct link between positive psychology and the immune system.

#5 - More Successful
While success does make people happier, having a positive psychology is also a factor in attaining success. It is not really possible, or at least much more difficult, to be extremely successful while having a negative outlook on life.

#6 - Snowball Effect
Those who engage in positive thinking are more likely to be happier in the future. Happy thoughts lead to more happy thoughts as the momentum takes off. Those who fail to correct their behavior will continue to engage in self-destruction patterns.

#7 - Confidence and Vitality
People who engage in positive thinking have more self esteem and are more confident in their day to day activities. They also have more energy ad exuberance. This makes sense, as they will be more optimistic about the future and they also care more about what they do in the moment. People of a negative mindset are more likely to look at their jobs as a means to an end and see life in general as pointless

Keeping Your Eyes Open for Opportunities

Sometimes we find ourselves needing to attract certain things into our lives. Sometimes if we want or need more money, and we visualize it, it might not come in the ways that we expect. Unfortunately, visualization isn’t always as straight-forward as it can seem, and we will never just wake up one day with a stack of money on our laps. The way that visualization works is through the law of attraction; which allows the things we need in order to realize our goals to reach us.

However, we may need to keep our eyes open when this happens. We aren’t just going to get a huge sum of money awarded to us out of nowhere most of the time. No, we need to look out for the opportunities that are presented to us in our lives to help us to create the situations that we most desire. Some of these situations are going to take some action, and if we are not proactive then we may miss the chance that the universe has sent us to seize the thing we have been visualizing and we will miss out on all of it.

There are a few very important things to keep in mind when using visualization to achieve your goals. First of all, are you doing everything in your power to make sure that you will see an opportunity when it comes to you? Are you talking to the people who will support your vision for yourself, or are you staying stuck in toxic relationships that will not help you achieve your goals?

Another thing to consider is whether or not you are open to new opportunities. If you tell yourself that everything in your life is stuck and will never change, you are already challenging the visualization process. If you partly believe that things can’t change and then an opportunity comes knocking, you might not even notice that it is a new opportunity for you that could help you get to the place where you want to be! Don’t let that happen to you.

Overall, make sure that you keep your mind open to the possibilities that are surrounding you. It can be difficult to look away from your routine and see things that may be opening up to you that never have before, but the most important thing you can do for yourself is to remember that your visualization practices will come back to you in ways you may not expect. So stay alert!

Visualization works. But it is up to us to do the work that needs to be done to get there. Only we are the masters of our destiny, and it is our choice whether or not we seize a new opportunity that can change our lives or let it pass us by.

Embrace Failure

It’s going to happen eventually. Failure is an inevitable part of success. If you can accept that you’re going to fail sometimes then you’ll be better equipped at handling it, and how you handle your failures influences your likelihood of finding success.

Failure is an opportunity to learn. If you never see what you did wrong, how can you ever correct it and make it right? To be resilient, you must use failure to your advantage so that you’ll be better equipped for your next attempt. Here are some ways you can harness your failures and use them to your power

: ● Acceptance

. The first step in being able to handle your failures is through acceptance. You have to know that you’re going to fail sometimes, and you have to be okay with that. By not accepting your failures, you’re relegating yourself to a lower value. Just because you have failed does not mean you are a failure. Every successful person has faced their fair share of failures. The only difference is, they didn’t let that stop them.

 ● Learn from your mistakes.

When you fail, you learn how not to do something. This is good, as it means you can learn what went wrong and you can correct your mistakes. Mistakes are the best teachers out there. It can be a slow process, but trial-and-error helps you whittle down your miscalculations. It’s an operation that leads you to the path of success.

If you attempt something over and over with the same methods, then you’re always going to get the same results. Instead, adjust your attempts by analyzing your failures carefully. What exactly went wrong? What went right? By answering these questions, you will be less likely to fail on the next attempt.

 ● Control your fear

. Fear is natural. In fact, it’s beneficial. Fear is an evolutionary trait that prevents you from putting yourself in potentially harmful situations. On the other hand, fear is malicious. It paralyzes you from engaging in challenges. It will condition you into avoiding challenges that need to be faced.

Connect with Your Body

When we're in the creative flow, we can sometimes forget we even have a body, because our minds are exploding with color, sounds, words and images. But when unhealthy habits sap your body of its vitality and strength, your creativity and productivity will be sapped as well.

What could be more frustrating than the interruption of your creative flow by an uninvited headache, back spasm, dullness of mind or the "shakes"?

I once heard the expression that as a guitar player, I'm a "small muscle athlete" – meaning I need to warm up those muscles and treat them well. Perhaps as artists we're ALL small muscle athletes. After all, we do need a good measure of physical endurance to get through our creative tasks.

Whether it's sitting hunched over an easel, the repetitive movements of playing a musical instrument, the stamina to stand and walk on stage throughout an entire show or sitting at a computer keyboard for most of the day, our creative tools all require the use of the body.

To keep that body strong and resilient takes daily attention.

Day-to-day self-care practices such as getting enough sleep, eating three healthy and balanced meals that are evenly timed throughout the day (plus healthy snacks if you need them), moving your body actively and drinking enough water are all essential for taking care of your body.

Taking care of the body also affects the mind. Fatigue, malnutrition, inactivity and dehydration will all have adverse effects on the mind and the ability to problem solve, concentrate and connect ideas.

The Creative Cycle and Self-Care

Touring with a band, rehearsing for a show or burning the midnight oil to finish a painting before a gallery opening, are all examples of extraordinary circumstances where we might relax our self-care discipline and adopt a whole new set of rules.

Then, when the show or tour is over or the piece is finished, we sometimes sink into an anti-climactic "low" or a period of transition before we get back into the creative flow again.

The daily practices you keep when things are "normal" will build resilience for the times when these extraordinary circumstances come up. They also build habits and healthy living skills that you can draw on when life gets more challenging.

Put it into play

One of the best practices for a healthy body, mind and spirit is to get enough sleep and rest. Tonight, end your evening activities a half hour early and spend that time winding down. Release the worries of the day by writing or speaking about them. Calm yourself with a bath, tea, massage, music or a good read that doesn’t remind you of your work.

We can all come up with reasons why we can't exercise, we can't make different food choices and we can't focus more on our health.

You have a unique creative gift to share with the world, but your creativity relies on a sound mind and body.

So which of your reasons for not taking care of yourself are more important than that?

Action Speaks Louder

We’ve all been in that place. You have a pretty good idea what must be done, but you can’t do it. You know it is the appropriate thing to do, but you just can’t act. You are stuck. You mull the circumstances over and over in your head, but still you don’t really do anything about it. You wait…wait for life to come along and work it out for you. Then you accept the outcome. There are times when this approach might be okay, perhaps even the best choice; but most of the time we just don’t have the courage to make a decision.

That’s what it boils down to, you know…courage. Well, I know that’s the case for me anyway. I have taken to examining myself at such times when I find it difficult to decide what best to do. My discovery is that, even when it is abundantly clear that one action is for the greater good, fear stops me from acting of my own will. I look at the “possible” consequences and I can’t bear to move forward. What about the other action? Well, the fallout of that might also be unbearable, so I don’t take that action either. I can’t stay where I am. I must do one of the other. Repeatedly I return back to the same fork in the road, and I don’t act on either one, hoping that the next time I return there would be more clarity. Sadly, clarity hardly comes. Eventually, when I do act, a lot more damage has been done than was necessary...damage that could have been avoided if I only had the courage to act sooner.

Well, more damage isn’t always done, one could argue. It’s true. Still, at the very least, you take away your control of the situation by becoming a victim. Surely that’s wrong, you say. What if you rush into a decision that you later come to regret? Wouldn’t it be better to consider things fully before you do something stupid? Once again, that’s correct. However, for most people, the consideration goes on for way longer than it should. If there is something else that should happen first, then that’s fine; but this is not the case either, for most people. It’s just that they don’t want to do what is necessary.

Making decisions is a key activity in taking control of your life. It’s a skill in itself. Some people seem to have the ability to do it better than others. For these people, it seems to be an innate ability. For others, well it requires development. You have to practice. You have to flex those “decision-making” muscles. You can’t afford to wait around for things to happen. You have to confront your fear...fear of failure and of missed opportunities.

In order to develop the ability to act when the situation demands it, it’s ironic that the best ally is a more “passive” resource. It’s acceptance. When you can learn to accept life, then you are able to do more without being paralyzed by fear. Think about it. You can’t control everything. This is a fact. You can’t see the future (unless you are psychic or something, in which case skip this); another fact. You will make mistakes in life; but you can recover and move on. Accept all of this and you’re well on your way to being able to make tough decisions.

Acceptance is not so difficult. You do it all the time. Do you drive? Well, if you do, you have to take it for granted that the driver coming from the opposite direction is not a lunatic who is going to run into you. If you’ve ever crossed the street at a Traffic Light, or gotten in a car with someone else driving, then you’re doing a lot of accepting. How do you do it? Well, you don’t have a choice. You have to get to where you’re going. You wouldn’t get there if you refuse to get in a car because you are afraid you might crash. It’s a risk you have to take because you are convinced that it there is almost no choice. Well, how about applying that acceptance to your decision? There are no guarantees in life (generally speaking). You might have made a mistake, but at least you had the courage to choose. And who’s to say you wouldn’t have gotten struck by lightning if you had taken the other path. You just can’t know that it would have been better if you hadn’t acted as you did. Accept this as well. It will give you confidence.  Trust me, with confidence; you are already half-way to your destination.

So step up to the plate. Choose. Don’t be a victim of circumstance. You can do so much more knowing that you are responsible for the choices that have delivered you to where you are in life.

The Dance of Life

Waking up as a little boy the excitement for the day's adventure pumped through my veins and lit up my eyes. I'd look out the window at the bright sunshine, the hay fields, and the expansive blue skies and magical clouds. Once out in the freedom of the day, with no responsibilities, I'd hop, skip, jump, and run with joy, wonder, and excitement. Somewhere along the way, I began to remember and learned about cause and effect. Suddenly some limitations came into existence. Continuing to grow and mature, I learned to reason and apply my own critical thinking to situations that may or may not happen. I was creating a new reality within the context of my mind and my past experiences. The horror!

Now, with another level of awareness that has developed, the spiritual awareness, it's like walking the tight rope between this world we live and work in, and the uninhibited freedom of a child at play. There is something more to this experience of life. We are not just conditioned beasts of labour and love. We are not just confined to living a life sentence in suburbia. There is, and always was, so much more available to us. It exists everywhere, including suburbia, at work, in the mundane, at the most extraordinary and ordinary. The only way I can explain the discovery is to dance.

One day hopeful, the other day destitute, one day in love, the next day hateful, one moment playful, the next moment serious, and one day success, the next day failure. We're constantly moving and changing. The only constant is the silence, the stillness, the quiet place deep inside where spirit connects spirit. We feel it in the closest moments of intimacy with family or significant others. It is experienced in the greatest profound moment of joy and all words, all senses, all comprehension has escaped us. There is nothing left to figure out, there is only to forget.

Everyday we would do well to forget many of the happenings of our yesterday. No bias, no fear, no limitations, no expectations, just wonder. Wonder and curiosity accompanied by joy and love. This intrigues me greatly. How would tomorrow look? How would my world interact? This ideal leads me to believe that more is available for all of us. As an idealist, many things I say may seem unattainable. This is the peak possibility, of that there is no doubt. While the ideal is beautiful, any measure or occurrence of that ideal is welcome. A grain of salt to flavor each day for a fantastic experience of life. Each day, I need to be that grain of salt too, and dance!

Emotional Baggage

We all have them. It has many faces We carry them around us, We store them in the remotest part of our brain, in the deepest chambers of our hearts .We have them in our extensive database of memories. Some are so close  to the heart, it brings out tears at the slightest provocation. Others may feel anger, very deep resentments and may exhibit anti-social or antagonistic behaviors.

Shadows follow and haunt many, in their dreams or waking hours, in unlikely places, unexpected and intimidating. Uncontrollable anger that can lead to violence can explode without warning.

Others will live in denial and spend their lives disconnected with the real world. Some will find blame in everyone except themselves; it’s always the other person’s fault. What  about victims and the victimizers?

Many are lost searching for something, they can not identify. Something is missing. A mass of lonely faces line  the crowded streets, sit in public places, in schools, agonize through the day in the workplace, gather at churches perhaps to seek solace. Everyday. We see a vast sea of sad , depressed and unfriendly faces. Our roads are open avenues to lash out their frustrations, thus incontrollable road rage. Scary.

Emotional excess baggage demands a high price at times. There are those who succumb to the weight of this burden, it gets too much to bear. They find no further reason to keep up the fight. Life loses its  lustre, they find the world cruel, their existence meaningless. To them, the fight over, if there ever was one.

There are many who go through life like a driftwood et the current take them wherever, it does not matter anymore. Is our world this cruel?

What causes these emotional suffering?

Broken dreams, broken relationships, failed careers, lost hopes, betrayals, violations, childhood trauma, or other forms of trauma ,add to this health issues. Social disgrace, financial disasters, poverty and addictions cast deep emotional scars to the most vulnerable members of the family and society.

Is our fast-paced society to blame? Add to this the pursuit of material success, endless toys, gadgets and exponential advances in technology. Fragile relationships, weakening  family ties, unreasonable expectations of self

and of others add to the already overstuffed emotional baggage. Some carry  them for a long, long time.

All is not lost, if we take a moment to listen to our deeper needs, beyond the physical. There is a flood of information, organizations, professionals and other resources most communities offer. Deep  emotional  suffering is a critical issue that can no longer be ignored, by society and by those who suffer. There is more to life. Wisdom of the ages from different cultures and beliefs are revived or revised to suit the present psyche of society. It offers a holistic approach , involving the whole person’s mind, body and spirit.

The wonders of medical and scientific research are vast, although pill-popping is not always the best answer.

Take stock of the weight of  your emotional baggage .

Live In The Present Moment

“Don’t miss all the beautiful colors of the rainbow looking for that pot of gold.” - Manav

Life unfolds in the present. But so often, we let the present slip away, allowing time to rush past unobserved and unseized, and squandering the precious seconds of our lives as we worry about the future and ruminate about what's past.

"We're living in a world that contributes in a major way to mental fragmentation, disintegration, distraction, decoherence," says Buddhist scholar B. Alan Wallace. We're always doing something, and we allow little time to practice stillness and calm.

When we're at work, we fantasize about being on vacation; on vacation, we worry about the work piling up on our desks. We dwell on intrusive memories of the past or fret about what may or may not happen in the future. We don't appreciate the living present because our "monkey minds," as Buddhists call them, vault from thought to thought like monkeys swinging from tree to tree.

What does it mean to live totally in the here and now? It means that your awareness is totally focused on the here and now. You're not worrying about the future or thinking of the past. When you live in the here and now, you're living where life is occurring. The past and future are fantasies, they don’t exist. As the saying goes “tomorrow never comes”. Tomorrow is solely a concept, tomorrow is always waiting to come round the corner, but around that corner are shadows, never to have light shed on, as time is always now. If you’re not living in the here and now,

you’re living in fantasy. That seems to be a pretty great reason to live in the here and now, doesn’t it?

When something does not work out or something does not happen, it does not mean it will never happen. It may mean that you are not ready for it and that you still need to grow and mature as a person.

It is better to always look at things differently, when you miss the bus from work or school always consider what if that bus is going to be involved in an accident, if your friends forget to invite you out for the evening do not sit and feel miserable for missing out.

If you’re living in the here and now, you’re living in acceptance. You’re embracing life as it is now, not as how you wish it would have been. When you’re living in acceptance, you recognize everything is complete as it is. You may forgive yourself for the errors you’ve made, and you may have peace in your heart recognizing that everything that should happen will

. The worst part about living in the past or the time to come is that you’re abandoning your personal might. If you’re not living today, you’re abandoning your life. You’re giving up your might to create. If there are alterations you’d like to make in life, it’s best to do it today.

If you’re living in the past, you can’t do anything about it, it’s deceased. If you’re fretting about the time to come, you’re living in some place that doesn’t exist. It hasn’t occurred yet. If you wish to alter your life, the only place you may do it is in the here and now.

But first you have to accept life as it is. When it comes down to it your brain is the only thing keeping you from living in the here and now.

In order for us to live in the here and now, does this mean we have to abandon our innate desire to write our personal story and share it with other people? No, we shouldn’t trade one extreme for another. What we truly want is to discover balance.

Always accept the things you cannot change that will help avoid disappointments, change the things you cannot accept by either working harder or turning to the alternative and always be careful in knowing the difference. Appreciate the little things in life before you crave for bigger and better that way you know life can be good before all the other big changes and always expect less or nothing to avoid disappointments.

Activate The Energy Of The Universe For You

Did you know that you can not create energy yourself?

You can just activate the universal energy, which exists always and will always exist.

This Energy gave you life. It’s always there, at every moment, for everyone.

There is no such thing like people with a lot of energy and other ones without energy.

The difference is that energetic people know how to activate this always available energy.

And the low energy people, they block this energy, which is although always available for them too!

Energy does not decide something like :”Hey I like this one so I will send her energy, and the other one over there I don’t like so he won’t get any of my energy”. This is nonsense!

The same counts for diseases. A disease does not “choose” a body to attack. How would it do it? Can you imagine a cancer saying : “I don’t like the way he cuts his hair, so I will attack his liver?” or “I can’t stand the way she talks so I will attack her breast?”

There is no such thing. It would be absurd. We have much more to say to our body and our life than we can understand for now or than we will want to admit for ourselves. Because to understand this is to take responsibility. Once we know that we “ask” for disease - by thinking of it all the time, by running from one doctor to another, by reading all articles about diseases in magazines, by telling our friends and family about all our pains and troubles -  than we have to change our behavior and start to behave like a healthy person, who tries to understand why he got ill, and tries to see how he can change his way of thinking and handling to stay healthy.

It’s much the same for energy. Energy is always there. It never goes away, it never slows down, otherwise our whole galaxy would fall apart. The same energy which holds the stars at place in the sky, which makes grass grow and turn the earth on his own axis, is available for us. Can you imagine? It’s tremendous and there for us!

You can activate this energy for you by thinking the right thoughts, that is thoughts which stimulate you instead of turning you down, thoughts which bring you health instead of disease, thoughts which make you feel loved instead of fearing loneliness, thoughts which bring you wealth instead of poverty.

Is thinking about all this nice stuff enough to bring it into your life? No! Otherwise it would be so easy just to lean back and think about everything you want and flops….it’s there! We all would be fairies and make the world whatever we want without doing anything.

Luckily it doesn’t work like that! It would be dangerous! We need something else to make our thoughts create what we want : it is action. The combination of both will give us what we want  dreaming about what we want and putting ourselves into action, that is taking steps in the direction of our thoughts.

At each step we take, the universe also takes a step toward  us. By our thoughts and our actions we activate this enormous universal energy to work for us. We make it move in the direction of realizing our dreams.

So the formula is pretty simple : first you dream, than you take action in the direction of your dream. This will generate energy to help you take the next step. The energy generated by this step will help you take the next step. And so on….

How do you know which action to take? Follow your guts, follow your intuition. It’s the best guide you can find!

Stop worrying. Instead dream, think of what you want and get yourself moving in the direction of your dream. That’s it. Watch what’s happening. Let the mystery unfold itself.
